Watermelon to me, is the fruit of my childhood summers. It’s a reminder of those hot, lazy, hazy summer days as a child in Sydney. Cicadas singing in the heat, the air thick with humidity. Days were spent keeping cool, playing with the water hose in the backyard, hanging out at the swimming pool, eating ice-cream and chilled fruits. Now that I live in London, strawberries are the fruit that remind me of English summers. Reminders of my past and present days merge together.

This drink couldn't be easier to make.

3 cups watermelon chopped
2 cups of strawberries hulled (frozen or fresh)
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp lime juice
Agave nectar (optional)

1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and blitz until smooth. If you prefer your drinks sweeter, add agave nectar to your liking.
2. You can replace the water with ice if you prefer your drinks colder.
